Mothman Festival - 2026

Mothman Festival is an annual event held every third weekend in September that commemorates the 1966 Point Pleasant, West Virginia, Mothman sighting, which gave birth to the infamous red-eyed winged legend. People from all over the world gather around our charming Main Street to celebrate their favorite cryptid during this one-of-a-kind event. The festival is located in Point Pleasant, right in the heart of Main Street, usually between the 200–500 blocks. Once you come off of the Bartow Jones Memorial Bridge (it's huge and green — you can't miss it!) into Point Pleasant, you will travel approximately one block north and on the left is the epicenter of the Festival. It’s super-easy to find — just look for all of the people! The Festival operates during daylight hours, with most shops and vendors opening on Saturday around 10 AM and closing between 5 to 6 PM. However, some food vendors will stay open later, and our live music performances and guest speakers are usually active until approximately 8 PM. On Sunday, the festival opens at 10 AM and concludes around 5 PM.
