The First Baptist Church in Russell, KY will be celebrating Thanksgiving with a "Pounding Service" again this year, and we are honored to have been asked back to help make some music!
During the "Pounding Service," everyone is asked to bring in non-perishable items which are collected and later distributed to those less fortunate members of the community. The name "pounding" most likely comes from staple items, such as flour, sugar, coffee, beans, and the like which were historically sold by the pound.
It's a unique and wonderful way to celebrate Thanksgiving, and we are looking forward to spending another Sunday at First Baptist Church!
