Metal corset stave, specially prepared by Kendra Ward!
The dulcimer playing tradition in Kendra's family goes back to the 1800's, and since the 1890's members of her family have used a metal corset stave as their 'pick.'
As Kendra explains, "my Dad was a fiddle player, as well as a dulcimer player, and he did not like the sound of plastic picks when he was playing the dulcimer. He just didn't like what he always called 'pick noise.' These corset staves don't produce the same kind of artificial pick noise that a regular plastic pick makes, and lets the melody really stand out."
These corset staves have been lovingly prepared by Kendra, and are just like the staves she grew up playing with. Each stave has been cut to the proper length, had its plastic coating removed, been filed and sanded to round the ends, and then one end has been dipped in rubber for maximum comfort.

I'm not entirely sure, but I might find something to put here. Perhaps I oculd do like a random quote thing or something.
