Web Site Upgrade goes awry!

Since you can read this, the "News" and "Schedule" sections of our web site are working again! If you don't have a clue what we're talking about, allow us to fill you in!

Shortly before New Year's Day, Bob embarked on a misson to update some of the components that make this web site work. Well, things did not go as planned. After the upgrade, neither the "News" nor the "Schedule" sections of this site were functional. That led to two frantic days of "fixing things," and at the end of that lunacy, nothing worked anymore! The entire site had to be taken down, software had to be reinstalled, various parts of the web site code had to be rebuilt and finally, the whole mess had to be reuploaded to our web server.

Things do seem to be back on track, but some of the older information that was on the site has been lost. All of the "old news" from the "News" section, and the "previous appearances" from the Schedule" are now just discontiguous bits of random ascii characters floating around in a cyber-soup somewhere. But it's no big deal. Those "archives" will rebuild themselves as new news and new appearances are added, and who really cares about "old news" anyway!

So we are glad to back online, and we are truly sorry for any inconvience the downtime caused. The moral of the story is "always make a backup before attempting to upgrade anything!" If we had done that, days of downtime could have been avoided. Lesson learned. And New Year's Resolution resolved!
